GLOWDENE SWEET, 86, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Center, Jasonville, IN with her family by her side. 

She was born February 2, 1930 in Jasonville, IN to Harry H. Pipes and Bonnie O. (Hardesty) Pipes.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Richard D. Sweet of Jasonville whom she married on July 2, 1952; daughters and son-in-law, Beth Sexton of Oakland City, Pam & Ed Witt of Jasonville; son and daughter-in-law, Chip & Pam Sweet of Jasonville; grandchildren, Jason & Alisha Sexton, Donna Beth Sexton, Austin & Kristen Witt, Anthony & Amanda Witt, Josh Sweet, Abby Sweet, Luke Sweet, Mariah Sweet; great-grandchildren, Gracen Brown, Addisyn Sexton, Andrew Witt; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gareth Pipes.

She was a 1947 Graduate of Jasonville High School; 1951 I.U. Graduate and a Registered Nurse. She was a Charter Member of the Shakamak Community Church. She was an associate member of Tri Kappa and a member of 3 different Bridge Clubs. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Shakamak Laker sports fan.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday both at the Shakamak Community Church; 5730 West State Road 48; Jasonville. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the church with Pastor Ron Riggs officiating.

Interment was at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg, IN.

Contributions were made in memory of Glowdene to Shakamak Community Church or Shakamak Athletic Booster Club. Envelopes were available.
