WALTER W. TENNIS, 94, of Florissant, Missouri and formerly of Coalmont, IN passed away at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015 in Delmar Gardens North in Black Jack, MO.
He was born August 21, 1920 in Coalmont, IN to Clarence Tennis and Winnie (Payne) Tennis.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, Bernice (nee Ferguson) Tennis of Florissant, MO; loving daughter, Lynn Porter of Florissant, MO; dearest grandchildren, Amy (D.B.) Cummings, Sarah (Perry) Stahlschmidt, Betsy (Jeff) Rachel; dearest great-grandchildren, Xander and Matthew Cummings, Jesse and Adam Rachel. Walter was also a dear uncle, great-uncle, great-great-uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; dear brother to, Helen Harris and Mary Jo Case.
Walter retired from Pfizer Pharmaceutical in Terre Haute, IN and was a member of Florissant Church of Christ.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services immediately followed visitation at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
Interment was at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
