TERRY GENE BURGER, 69, of Nashville, IN passed away at 3:45 A.M. Monday March 16, 2026 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, IN.

Terry Gene Burger, of Nashville, Indiana, was born September 7, 1956, in Sullivan, Indiana, to Charles Leon Burger and Marilyn Rose (Gorby) Burger.

Terry married Linda Cathleen Kim on January 9, 1981.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his service, he was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and in South Korea. He was a 1975 graduate of Shakamak High School and served as a Sergeant in the Army’s Military Police unit. He worked as a Federal Correctional Officer for United States Penitentiary Terre Haute Indiana from 1991 and retired 2011.

Terry had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working on trucks and spending time outside. He was known for his strong work ethic, patriotic spirit, and for sharing life lessons with his children in his own straightforward way.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Cathleen Burger; children, Kimberly Dawn Burger (George Nishikawa), Charles Leon Burger, Michael Gary Burger (Denise), Matthew Joseph Burger (Charnelle), Andrew Joseph Burger; grandchildren, Marilyn Rose Nishikawa, Hailee James Burger, Mila Naomi Burger, Emma Charlotte Burger, Leah Noelle Burger, Kalila Burger, Kiyoshi Burger, Elizabeth Grace Burger, Raylan Joseph Nishikawa; and sister Jackie Burger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Burger and Marilyn Burger.

Terry will be remembered for his love of family, pride in serving his country, and his lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Funeral Home until the time of service at 1 P.M. with Pastor Brad West officiating.

Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
