CLAUDE “TOM” THOMAS, JR., 85, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 5:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his residence.

He was born June 8, 1930 in Jasonville, IN to Claude Thomas, Sr. and Cora F. (Zurcher) Thomas.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Naomi M. (Barnes) Thomas of Jasonville, IN whom he married on August 27, 1954; daughters and son-in-law, Glenda and William Caddell of Linton, IN, Connie Terrell and Rodney Lambermont of Coalmont, IN, Kelly Thomas Portteus of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Amanda and Tim Cox, Jessica Terrell, Cody Terrell, Jonathan Terrell, Halea and Wes Franklin, Shelby Portteus; great-grandchildren, Malea, Xzandra, Miranda, Brooklyn, Wrigley, Brynley, Tyler; sister, Helen Marie Markle of Linton, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Cletus Thomas, Dorothy Ellen Keller, Wayne Thomas, Mary Katherine Targett, Betty Lou Feuquay, Walter William Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Harold Thomas.

Claude retired from General Electric in Linton, IN after 35 years of service. He was associated with the Jasonville Assembly of God Church. He was Co-Founder of National Cur and Feist Breeders Association, was a Life-Time Member of Elnora Outdoor Club, was a Column Writer for Full Cry Magazine for well over 20 years, President of the Local Union for 8 years through GE, Original Mountain Cur Association for 30 years. Claude was an Avid Hunter and Gardener. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and Member of the Linton American Legion Post #22.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Service Time Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Gould and Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
