MARILYN SUE THOMPSON, 61, of Linton, IN passed away at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 in her home.

She was born March 13, 1954 in Terre Haute, IN to Martha Lee (Boling) Gard.

Marilyn married Gary Ray Thompson on June 24, 1973.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Gary Ray Thompson of Linton, IN; daughter, Anna Smith of Worthington, IN; son & daughter-in-law, Bryce and Bonnie Thompson of Worthington, IN; grandsons, Brady Allan, Robert Stephen, and Austin Ray Harmon; great-granddaughters, Scarlett Christine and Lillian Mae Harmon; brothers & sister-in-law, Roger and Linda Lee of Sullivan, IN, Randy Lee of Linton, IN, and Robert Lee of Linton, IN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Lee Gard.

Marilyn was a 1973 graduate of Shakamak High School. She loved flowers and jewelry and enjoyed clothes. Marilyn’s passion was for her family. She loved spending time with her grandkids. Marilyn was always thinking about others. She also made the best chili.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Cox Funeral Home.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
