TONI LEE MARIE (VIRE) COPELAND THOMPSON, 74, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away at 12:28 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
She was born March 9, 1943 in Farmersburg, IN to Thomas W. Vire Sr. and Eileen E. (Wilson) Vire.
Survivors include her husband, Donald L. Thompson of Kokomo, IN; son, Mike and Jeannette Copeland of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Kimberly Lynn and Jerry Butler of Peru, IN; grandchildren, James Reed and his partner Tyler Duvall, Jonathan Reed, Jadelynn Reid and her fiancé Byram Costley Anna Copeland and Jessica Butler; great-grandchild, Jonathan E. Reed Jr.; siblings, Sharon Brickey of Farmersburg, IN, Brenda Orndorff of Shelburn, IN, Thomas Vire Jr. and Deb of Shelburn, IN, Christina Banfield and Dave of St. Augustine, FL, Barbara Moore of Prairie Creek, IN, Henry Vire and Kathy of Farmersburg, IN, Bella Rollings and Mike of McDonough, GA, Ruth Nickless of Farmersburg, IN, Dan Vire and Terri of Sullivan, IN, Timothy Vire and Lisa of Jasonville, IN, Bonnie Spencer and Daryl of Dallas, TX; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Eileen Vire; first husband, James L. Copeland; son, James Lee Copeland Jr.; brother, Dale Vire.
Toni was a homemaker and member of the O.E.S. Lodge of Kokomo. She enjoyed time in her yard tending to her flowers while watching her grandchildren and great grandson laugh and play.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. A Gathering of Friends was scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Saturday August 26, 2017 at the Westlawn Cemetery Chapel, Farmersburg, IN. Memorial Services immediately followed visitation with Pastor Don Ransford officiating.
Interment was at Westlawn Cemetery, Sullivan County, IN.
