WILLIAM ELI “BILL” THOMPSON, 83, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute IN.  

He was born December 13, 1933 in Greene County to Luther Thompson and Etta M. Thompson (Fulk).

Bill married Inez Maxine (Owen) Thompson December 27, 1952 and who passed away on June 19, 2017.

Survivors include his children, Pam and Bill Kirk of Jasonville, IN, Gary and Linda Thompson of Otwell, IN; grandchildren, Anna Giberson, Bryce and Bonnie Thompson, Dusty and Holly Kirk, Rocky Caddell, Misty York, Eli Thompson; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Ruth Anne Thompson of Linton; Sisters-in-law and brother–in-law Kay and Don Dowden of Martinsville, IN, Shirley Martindale of Linton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Greg Thompson.

Bill graduated from Switz City Central High School with the class of 1951.  He was a tool and dye maker, and a supervisor at Crane Naval Base with 25 years of service.  Bill was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, a member of the Jasonville Masonic Lodge #530 F and AM Lodge, BPO Elks Linton Lodge #866, Jasonville-Linton O.E.S. #140 and in the Wood Workers Club.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 with Masonic Memorial Services at 7 p.m. Visitation also was at 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at the Cox Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday October 25, 2017 with Pastor Cliff Gano officiating.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
