STEPHEN “STEVE” GEORGE TIPTON, 56, of Jasonville, Indiana was called home by his Lord peacefully at home Thursday, February 28th.  He is the son of Ines Tipton and the late Senator Elden Tipton of Jasonville. Survivors are mother, Ines; greatest joy of his life, lovely daughter Ashlyn Tipton; sisters and brothers, Linda Tipton of Jasonville, John Tipton of Jacksonville, Florida, Joe Tipton of Fairfax Court House, Virginia (currently serving in Afghanistan), Bonnie Tipton of Houston, Texas, and Bill Tipton of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Steve was a proud US Army veteran where he was a Cobra helicopter mechanic.  He was an avid bowler and Indianapolis Colts fan.  Born August 25, 1956 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Steve had a passion for life, raising his beloved daughter, always being there for friends, and being the caretaker for his parents and family farm.  He was also a deft horseman and animal lover.  As someone who never had a bad word to say about anyone, he will be sorely missed by his family and his numerous friends in whom Steve demonstrated complete loyalty.  Often known to tell the funniest stories with impeccable timing, Steve was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, friend and all around “great guy.”

Arrangements were entrusted to Cox Funeral Home with Visitation scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Funeral Services were 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Shakamak Community Church with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Military Services were conducted. Private Burial followed. The church provided dinner after the funeral services. Family and friends were invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions were dedicated to the American Heart Association.
