MARLA JEAN (SHIPMAN) TRIBE, 58, of Midland, Indiana passed away at 12:22 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 in Greene County General Hospital, Linton, IN.

She was born November 3, 1955 in Sullivan, IN to Evan Shipman and Gelena “Bump” (McClanahan) Shipman.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Tribe of Midland, IN whom she married on May 22, 1992; daughters; Marci Keller of Princeton, IN, Nikki Tribe of Midland, IN; father-in-law, Frank Alan Tribe of Albion IL; sister & brother-in-law, Marsha & Randy Foutz of Princeton, IN; brothers & sisters-in-law, Gary & Deanna Shipman of Jasonville, IN, Alan “Hoot” & Julia Shipman of Dugger, IN; nieces and nephews, B.A. & Shawn Shipman, Melissa & Mitchel Whetstone; Brenna & Michael Tuley, Bret & Nicole Shipman, Kyle Shipman, Kristopher Shipman, Richard Tribe; great-nieces and nephews, Morgan Whetstone, Bryly Shipman, Marissa Whetstone, Brayson Shipman, Maverick Whetstone, Evan Tuley, Jocelyn Tuley, Gwendolyn Shipman; brother & sister-in-law, Bill Alan & Charlotte Tribe of Albion, IL; sister & brother-in-law, Barbara Kay & Phillip Beasley of Oklahoma City, OK

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Esther June Tribe.

Marla graduated from Union High School Class of 1974. She had worked at Sony DADC and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Marla liked to travel and go to Old Car Shows. She loved girl’s night out with her daughters. Marla loved and cared for Tom, the girls and all of her family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Visitation began at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral Services were Noon Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Church on Hwy 59 South of Midland with Pastor Doug Cassel and Pastor Matt Jacobson officiating.

Interment was at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, IN.

Contributions were made in memory of Marla to WYTJ 89.3 Bethel Baptist Radio Ministry “Will You Trust Jesus”. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
