GERHART K. “VERSIE” VERSEMAN, 87, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 11:05 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 in Springhill Village, Terre Haute, IN.

He was born December 21, 1930 in Switz City, IN to Henry Verseman and Gertrude (Kuppers) Verseman.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Rosalie (Terhune) Hamilton Verseman of Jasonville who he married on December 21, 1984; children, Bill Verseman of Shelbyville, IN, Gary Verseman of Bloomfield, IN, Jim Verseman of Shelbyville, IN, Mary Beth Baldrage of Martinsville, IN, Dwayne Verseman of Worthington, IN; step-son, Pastor Tracy Hamilton (Janell) of Jasonville; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; very special friend, Mel Jackaway of Frederick, MD; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 grandchild; brother.

Versie graduated from Switz City High School Class of 1949. He was a self-employed truck driver for 60 years, 30 years with H&V Farms. He was Republican Precinct Committeeman for 33 years, was a member of the Linton F&AM Lodge #560, Linton Eastern Star Lodge #140, VFW National, Life Member of the Gideon’s for 30 years, 16 year member of the South Central Indiana Antique Truck Club, 20 year member of the National Truck Historical Society and Shakamak Community Church. He was a Corporal in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled at the Shakamak Community Church from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday with Masonic Services at 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the Church. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Church with Pastor Tracy Hamilton, Rev. Ron Riggs and Pastor Mel Jackaway officiating.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN with Military Graveside Rites.

In lieu of flowers contributions were made in memory of Versie to Shakamak Community Church or The Gideon’s. Envelopes were available at the church.
