VERNILIA LOUISE (SINDERS) VEST, 90, of Jasonville, IN formerly of Terre Haute, IN passed away at 3:18 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her niece’s residence in Sullivan, IN.
She was born February 8, 1921 in Clay County, IN to William H. Sinders and Rachael (Willigman) Sinders.
Vernilia married Clarence F. Vest on April 17, 1960 and he passed away in 1979.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Ruthanna & Bob Davis of Sullivan, IN whom she had lived with for 2 1/2 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Ruth Malone and Ernestine Meredith, brothers, Gale Sinders, Herschel Sinders, Ralph Sinders and Claude Sinders.
Vernilia graduated from Coalmont High School Class of 1939, she attended the United Methodist Church at Shelburn. Vernilia worked for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company of Terre Haute, IN in the laundry dept. repairing uniforms, she also worked as a nurse’s aide at Meadows Manor Nursing Home for about 5 years.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Carolyn Clark officiating.
Interment was at Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN.
