VICTOR A. BURRIS, 62, of Sullivan, IN passed away at 12:45 pm Friday, September 11, 2026 in IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born April 22, 1964 in Linton, IN to Vernon Burris and Rita (Jumps) Freed.
Survivors include his wife of 4 years, Anita J. (Norrick) Burris of Sullivan, IN who he married on August 13, 2022; children, Scott Hughes of Sullivan, IN, Russell Eytchison of Terre Haute, IN, Rosemary Eytchison of Sullivan, IN; brother, Jeff Burris (Deb) of Lyons, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Victoria Burris; sister, Peggy A. Bolinger.
Victor graduated from Shakamak High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Victor worked as a mechanic and was a Volunteer Fire Fighter on the Lewis Township Fire Department.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. A Celebration of Life is 11 am to Noon Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the Lewis Township Fire Department. Services are immediately following at Noon with the IVFA Memorial Service and Pastor Darren Sluder officiating.
Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Victor to Cox Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Envelopes are available at the funeral.
