VIRGINIA “SKIP” (ROGERS) BREWER, 89, of Jasonville, IN passed away at home surrounded by her family at 9:50 A.M. SundayMay 23, 2021.
She was born January 12, 1932 in Jasonville, IN to George Kenneth Rogers and Orpha (Gallion) Wesnidge.
Virginia married David Lee Brewer on December 2, 1951 and they were married for 47 years.
Survivors include her siblings, Patsy R. (Rogers) Reynolds of Jasonville, Michael “Mike” Wesnidge of Jasonville, IN, Nancy Jane Fields; daughter in-law, Bonnie (Brewer) Johnson; grandchildren,Steven (Missy) Brewer, Joe (Nicole) Brewer, David (Tara) Brewer; great-grandchildren – 7; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-father, Jake Wesnidge; daughter, Lee Ann West; son, Steven Wayne Brewer; sisters, Tish (Wesnidge) Hanks, Dorothy (Wesnidge) Tinch, granddaughters, Kristy Lee West and Kirby Ann West.
Virginia graduated Jasonville High School class of 1949. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Hymera and an avid Chicago Cubs Fan for most of her life.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 1 P.M. Thursday May 27, 2021 with Pastor Mike Rotmanofficiating.
Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Virginia to the Jasonville Public Library, one of her favorite places. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
