DONNA J. WEIR, 69, of Shelburn, Indiana passed away at 3:05 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 in her residence.
She was born July 5, 1944 in Sullivan, IN to Ora Decker House and Mildred Florence (Griffith) House.
Survivors include her husband, Enos James Weir of Shelburn, IN whom she married on December 25, 1969; son & daughter-in-law, Vance E. & Lisa Weir of Shelburn, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Tryon and Tara Williams; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sara House & Mack McCain of Terre Haute, IN, Elsie House of Shelburn, IN; brother, Robert House of Jasonville, IN; sister-in-law, Maxine House, of Jasonville, IN; many nieces & nephews; great nieces & nephews; great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Decker & Mildred Florence House; brothers & sisters-in-law, Larry House, James & Mary House, Lavern House, Don House, Donna K. House; sister & brother-in-law, Ella & Wayne Chesterfield.
Donna retired from Peabody Coal Company after 13 years when the shops closed down as a payroll clerk. Most recently she had worked 13 years for WVCF and ran an inmate labor line. She loved to cook for family and friends. She enjoyed cutting hair for the boys in the family. Donna enjoyed mowing and keeping the yard beautiful.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday with O.E.S. services at 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Bose officiating.
Interment was at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
