SAMUEL IVAN WILSON, SR., 84 of Coal City, Indiana passed away at 3:10 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Jasonville, IN.  He was born October 2, 1926 in Hillsboro, OH to Henry Wilson and Maude (Shoemaker) Wilson. Samuel was married to Samantha K. (Kincaid) Wilson who passed away on September 15, 1996.

Survivors include his daughters & sons-in-law, Bettigene & Gary Powell of Jasonville, Wanda & James Orman of Spencer, IN, Judy & Mike Matteson of Jasonville; sons & daughter-in-law, Samuel I. Wilson, Jr. of Linton, IN, Terry Wilson of Worthington, IN, Tim & Kelly Wilson of Clay City, IN; sisters, Nellie Clark of Spencer, IN and Alice Fender of Bloomington, IN; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.

He had worked as a security guard for Sunbeam-Keller Aluminum and worked for many of the area farmers. He was a WWII Army Veteran.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Services followed visitation at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 with Pastor Carl Leth officiating. A Private Burial was Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Winter Cemetery in Owen County, Indiana.
