MARY RUTH WOODS, 88, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Terre Haute, IN.
She was born March 27, 1928 in Howesville, IN to Verlin Miller and Fannie Ethel (Love) Miller.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, James “Jim” Everett Woods of Jasonville, IN whom she married on March 28, 1947; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth, Miller, Fred Miller, Emil Miller; sister, Helen Miller Bohnert.
Mary attended Coalmont High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Jasonville Assembly of God Church. Mary was a lover of all animals. She took pride in her home, vegetable and flower gardens. Mary loved her husband, Jim dearly.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Brad West officiating.
Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions were made in memory of Mary to Greene County Humane Society or Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
