YVONNE MARIE APPLEBACH MORRISSEY, joined her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 14, 2025. She passed away suddenly from natural causes. Born on December 9, 1964, in Kooskia, Idaho, Yvonne grew up in Laurel, Montana. After residing in Hymera, Indiana, for 28 years, she recently moved to Linton. Yvonne was the beloved daughter of Pauline Garner Applebach and James Stover Applebach and was lovingly embraced as a chosen daughter by Robert Hahn. She married Robert Morrissey on June 29, 1983.
Yvonne will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Morrissey (Erik) of Kissimmee, FL, Hannah Hickmann (Andrew), and granddaughter, Catalina, of Dugger, IN, her siblings, Melody Merges (Kevin) of Rogers, MN, and Matthew Applebach of Tukwila, WA and other loved ones. Yvonne fondly recalled her deep familial roots and impactful relationships, especially with her grandparents, Ralph and Reba Garner of Lancaster, PA.
Yvonne was a devoted mother, loyal friend, and a woman of faith. She was an expert quilter, skilled blogger, voracious reader, adventurous traveler, genealogist, and historian. In the past year, she embraced her independence and unique artistic gifts, treasured her time with Hannah and Catalina, and found enjoyment in her employment at the Bloomington Public Library. Yvonne flourished in her second chapter of life, relishing her new home, forming deep friendships, and eagerly anticipating a trip to The Dells, WI, and her annual fall quilting and lighthouse viewing trip to Maine in September. Her wisdom, life outlook, laughter, and quirky nature will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 24 at 4:00pm. Visitation from 1:00-4:00pm. A meal will be served after the service. Bethel Baptist Church, Linton. Interment with her grandparents in Lancaster, PA and on the coast of Maine.
